Hardwood Edge Grain Cutting Board- Walnut, Birch, Maple, Purpleheart, Tigerwood

Bring a touch of natural beauty to your home with this beautiful board. Lovingly hand crafted from offcuts, reclaimed boards, and recycled furniture wherever possible, giving new life to every beautiful piece, while trying to minimize the use of "new" wood.

Because no two trees are alike, every board has its own distinct character. You might notice variations in tone, figure, or grain pattern; that's part of what makes them truly one of a kind. Over time, the wood's colour may deepen or mellow slightly, as it continues to age naturally, adding even more charm to your board.

Protected with food safe Odie's Oil products for durability and beauty, and a natural feel to the touch.

CARE INSTRUCTIONS

  • Wipe clean with a damp soapy cloth as needed (it's a good idea to clean both sides, rather than just one), rinse, and DRY IMMEDIATELY. Avoid soaking or placing in a dishwasher, as this will surely damage or warp your board.
  • Allow board to air dry fully after cleaning, and store UPRIGHT, not flat, to allow air flow to both sides.
  • Keep out of direct sunlight or extreme heat to prevent fading and/or warping.
  • To refresh the finish on occasion (don't overdo it), lightly rub a tiny amount of food-safe oil or board butter and buff thoroughly with a soft cloth
  • With proper care, your board should last for years and continue to develop a rich, natural patina

SIZE:

This edge grain board measures 367mm X 268mm X 26mm (33mm with the four rubber feet with stainless steel screws). Does not have additional handles.

ABOUT THIS BOARD:

Edge grain boards are great light to medium duty boards for prep, or fruits and cheeses. While you CAN cut on them, the grain is oriented in such a way that it may dull your knives a bit faster than an end grain board, but not as much as a face grain board would. So they are a great "in between" option.
